Why we built it
A typical public high school counselor supports hundreds of students. Even excellent counselors can only meet each student a handful of times before applications are due. Students with outside help fill those gaps privately; most students simply wait.
Forthway is the layer in between. It keeps a student's plan current, explains why each step matters, and hands the counselor a clear picture of who is drifting — so their time goes where judgment is actually needed.
What Forthway does not do
- It does not replace college counselors or override their judgment.
- It does not predict or estimate a student's chance of admission.
- It does not guarantee that any action improves admission outcomes.
- It does not claim inside knowledge of any admissions office.
- It does not share counselor-only notes with students.
Schools typically start with one grade level or one counselor caseload for a single semester.
- Week 1: counselor onboarding and student roster setup
- Weeks 2–3: student profile completion
- Weeks 4–12: weekly actions, college lists and counselor review
- End of pilot: engagement and profile-completion summary
During the MVP, students enter their own academic information. Transcript, Common App and College Board integrations are not part of this release.
